The cards are easy enough. I'll let you figure those out.

The Banner

The banner was quick to make by using the Perfect Pennants and Tasteful Trim Dies.

I cut the white layer and the Twitterpatted dsp with with the largest triangle. I trimmed down the dsp layer a bit along one long edge. The middle triangle was just too small.

The scallop trim I used the scallop section of the Tasteful Trim die.

I cut my Not Quite Navy cardstock 1 1/4" wide and was able to cut 5 layers at a time.

I used the Crimper to crimp the scallop trim so it would ruffle easier.

I pinched it together to gather it as I pressed it onto the Sticky Strip tape

on the back side.

I used the SU Glue stick to apply the dsp on the white triangles.

I then attached some scallop trim pieces on the top edge

on the front side, in the same way as I attached them on the back.

To hang the banner I punched holes through each end with the Crop A Dile,

then threaded them on a 5 foot piece of grosgrain ribbon.

I stamped the birthday words and small images on white. Punched them out with the 11/4" circle punch, and layered them on a 1 3/8" Not Quite Navy circle punch.

I layered this on a white scallop punch shape. I was going to use the doily shapes from the Pennant die but they were too large for the look I wanted. I snipped off the tip of one of the dsp layers and it looked wonky so I added the large pearls from the Occasion Mini to hide the end. You'd never have know unless I told!

The Bracelet

This was quick and easy, as I already had the bracelet. I used Stazon cleaner

to get the previous image off the disks completely and washed and dries the shell circles. I then stamped the small images from the set on each side of the same circle.

Some ended up a little off center. I left them, it added charm. :)

I am going to clear coat them with Crystal Effects OR clear nail polish to protect the images. Maybe the nail polish, I could get that off if I want to change the images again.

Sale A Bration Blog Hop

First up a few cards. One masculine . . .

I do love this paper offered for SAB! It's got designs

for guys and gals in the paper pack. I used the Top Note die

and cut it twice to get the fancy square layer on the 2 cards.

For one of my 3D items I created a Birthday Banner.

I used the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die and circle punches

to create layers and dimension on the banner. I did some shadow
stamping to make the images more impressive.
It's all strung on white grosgrain ribbon. Festive and fun!

My wow moment item! A stamped bracelet.

I was so stuck for a WOW item to make with this set. Then I remembered this bracelet in my jewelry drawer. I made these a few years back for friends at convention. I had stamped flower centers from Greenhouse Gardens on the shell disks but was able to get the inked images off. I then stamped the small images from this set on them. These small stamps are perfect for jewelry!

Winter Wonder

We are finally getting some snow around here.

Cold temps and freezing rain too, but hey, the good with the bad. lol

Another Hobby Lobby class card. This was such a fun punch art card.

I saw this online somewhere and knew I had to make it.

I used embossing folders I had in my "other store" box. This card could be used for a winter birthday, a baby card, or just a "wish you were here" for someone in a warmer location. haha

I used the smallest punch shape from the Boho Blossom punch, a Jumbo oval, and a strip 1/2" x 1 3/4". to create the hat. I cut and punched after I embossed a larger sheet. Much easier to get it to stay in the embossing folder.

I sponged around the edge of the brown circle so it would pop against the brown square. There are also Dimemsionals under the circle and the pom on the hat. I like the tone on tone effect of this card. The banners were strips cut to size then embossed so they would layer over certain words in that folds. I showed the gals in class how to cut the ends in the V using the 1" square punch.

Slid your strip in at the corner.

Center the point on the strip. Make sure the ends are even and punch.

Easy, peasy, instant banner ends. I can punch up to 3 at a time.

Surprise Pop Up

A pop up card from a Hobby Lobby class.

I like to have one easy technique in each class.

A great card for a teen who is getting their driver's license around their birthday. What's better to wish for than a truck? :) Well maybe not this style truck.

This is such an easy pop up. It is the technique found on Catherine Pooler's blog. I just oriented the card a different direction. You still punch in from each side with the Word Window Punch.

I really questioned why I bought this die when I got my order.

I had in mind to make birds to decorate a Christmas tree,
but that never got done. Good intentions, you know?

I saw Shelli Gardner's post (she owns Stampin' Up!) about what she did with this die

She showed 6 great ideas so that inspired me to come up with a card for the die.

My card.

I love this bird embossed. There is so much more to it.

I used the new Edgelits Die and Embossing folders to create the cool edge

on the card front. I also cut the piece for inside to match the edge.

Another card made for a swap. This one uses the Fresh Vintage set.

The dsp, ribbon, and brads are also SAB products. I just love this color combination.

This was what my work area looked like after make 8 sets of swap card fronts

and, lol, I'd already started putting stuff away. I like the quote, "A messy desk is

a sign of creative mind". Not sure what my messy house represents. :D

I got a fun package in the mail today!

I didn't want to take it out of there, to take a photo,

I don't think I'll get it back in the container.

I guess I need to make a card with it. :)

The brads and the 1/8" Calypso Coral ribbon are some of the FREE stuff

More Bunnies!

This is another card created for a swap.

I again used the bunnies from Heaven Blessed.

It gave me a chance to use a layout I was wanting to try.

It uses the 2 smaller pennants from the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die.

This is also the die I used to cut out doilies for the Bordering on Romance card.

For this card I used the Twitterpated - Flowers on Grey dsp,

Regal Rose, W. White, and Marina Mist CS.

The words are stamped and layered as an offset on Modern Label punch shapes. Accented by a brad. The scallops along the triangles are die cut from the Tastelfully Trim die. The image is layered on the 3", 3.5", and a scallop circle from the Scallops #2 die. These could all be circles and be cut out with a circle cutter too.

I do like these bunnies.

Watercolored Flowers

I taught this today at the technique class. When planning the class it ~~inspired~~ reminded me, I could use it for this swap card. This is also an outline stamp. It is the new Bordering On Romance stamp set in the Occasion Mini. Which starts today!

These are my finished flowers. Messy, eh?

I used Baja Blue, and Celery first. Let them dry. I used Pink Pirouette on some small blossoms. Then added Not Quite Navy and Old Olive as accents. For all of this I used a fine mist spray bottle and a fine tip watercolor brush as the detail areas are small. To add the accent colors I worked with a fairly dry brush. I kept a tissue handy to blot up excess ink right away.

I punched out the images with the 1 3/4" Circle punch and layered them on a doily from the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die. The designer paper is the new Twitterpated dsp. Baja Blue Seam Binding ribbon, Black and Basic Gray cs as the base layers. The Basic Grey is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impression folder.

Here's the whole swap group.

How-tos Occasion Mini Blog Hop 2012

The Nursery Set

These were created with the new Designer Rosette Bigz XL die.

It cuts a panel that measures 5" tall by 12" long.

I cut my strips 4" tall. I could get 3 out of each 12"x12" sheet.

I just laid them a hair above the top edge of the die.

The die cuts, and scores all lines for you. I was able to cut 3 sheets of dsp at one time. You should test this, as every die cut machine is different.

Copy paper doesn't score or fold well.

I used the Crop A Dile to punch through the straight ends

to create an opening to thread the Bakers Twine through.

Fold the 3 strips on all score lines.

Attach the 3 pieces together with Sticky Strip tape,

overlapping just one fold section at each end.

Thread Baker's Twine through holes. After it was threaded all the way around, I threaded back through the starting point. In green parenthesis. I gently pulled the Bakers Twine through, gathering the cone as I pulled. I didn't cut the Baker's Twine off the package until I was done. You only need a short piece to tie the cone together but you need a long piece for threading around!

Gather the cone so it is pulled tight.

Too large an opening and the cone just flops around.

If you forget and have the ends on the outside, tie off the twine and slide it between 2 layers of an overlap section. It would be best to have the knot end up on the inside of the cone.

Thread ribbon through 1/2 circle openings at top edge. Seam Binding ribbon worked great. Anything heavier in this width would have torn the paper. After I had threaded the ribbon through the openings. (Sorry forgot to take a picture at this point.) I pulled some out at each side to create the handles. About 4" on each side. You need to tie a knot next to the cone so the ribbon doesn't pull back through. Then tie a bow in front.

If you place a cotton ball in the bottom you can use the basket to hold small stuff or just hold cotton balls. You could also place a plastic glass insid eif you have one the right size.

I stamped and attached the tags with 4 glue dots on the raised ridges.

The punched scallop circle is the new White Waffle paper.

The night light is only one die cut section. See this style night light has side sections that the paper slides into. I attached the paper to a piece of clear plastic to have a buffer between it and the bulb. The plastic stays curved so the paper cannot rest on the bulb. Fire safety at all times. I only threaded the top edge with the Seam Binding Ribbon, that and the taped at the sides holds it in place.

The image was stamped on the White Waffle paper with Black Stazon ink,

then colored in with the Watercolor pencils and Blender Pen.

It was too hard to photograph at night but this is what I got.

The image does glow through beautifully.

Again sorry but I do not know where you can find this style night light.

I bought it on clearance a few years ago.

The scrapbook card is so easy. Cut dsp 6" x 12". Score at 6" and fold. This is your page base. Cut another layer of dsp 5.5" x 5.5". Stamp your sentiment and image on a neutral color, then layer that on a contrasting color. My image is a funky shape because I left a big smear of brown ink on one corner of the rectangle. I just trimmed it and the background piece. You'd never have known I goofed if you hadn't been told. :)

The inside is just a white piece to place a photo on.

Cut this to be 1/2" wider that your photo in each direction. If your photo is 4" x 5", cut the white layer 4.5" x 5.5". You can add another sentiment here or just a handwritten note. After you've displayed your holiday card, cut the card in half to create 2 - 6" x6" pages to place in an album.

The last was just my swap card, which should be easy to case

(copy and share everything) by looking at the picture.

Stampin' Addicts Occasion Mini Blog Hop

The stamp set I chose to showcase is Heaven Blessed. I love bunnies and bought this set just for them. I did managed to use all 7 images. Hmmm, 7 again, might be time to go buy a lottery ticket.

This card was created for a swap with other demonstrators. It uses the seated bunny and the Happy Easter images. See that bit of pink ribbon, it's pleated!
Love it, and the large pearls!

This next card is a scallop circle easel card. I tried to use bolder colors. With the spring images in this set I only wanted to use Soft Subtles. Here the 2 bunny images stamped together and the Happy Easter sentiment. The designer paper is new in this mini too. It's called Twitterpated and is a great mix of feminine and masculine patterns.

This card is a 6" x 6" card. It can be cut in half to create 2 scrapbook pages for a
6" square scrapbook. A family picture mat is inside. I colored the images with the watercolor pencils and blender pens. I had to color the little girl 3 times! I kept trying to add pink to her cheeks and messing up. So she is cut out and mounted over the first image with Dimensionals.
There are 3 of the images used on this card.

Now my 3D project. It's three things for a baby's room. I had an idea for a baby card made with the Whte Waffle Paper that just didn't turn out. I had a basket I had made from the Designer Rosette Bigz XL die. I was able to save parts of the card to create these. Baby's rooms make me think night lights and I went from there. This night light was originally a Christmas night light. It is designed with a removable shade. Now don't get all excited, I bought this on clearance years ago and have never seen another like it. So sorry, you can't run out and buy one.

The 2 baskets are created by gathering the Rosette die cuts into cone shapes and tieing together with Baker's Twine and Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon. I ties handles on each side of the baskets. A clear plastic cup can be inserted inside to hold small stuff. For the night light, the image is stamped on the Waffle Paper with Black Stazon and colored with the Watercolor Crayons. I wanted the light to shine through both the dsp and the image.

I feel like one of the elves.

I've been busy making gifts as, this Saturday, is Christmas Eve!!!

I'd like someone to monitor the time factor, it's going by far too fast. lol

I made these, only 27 of them :), for the employees at Hobby Lobby

where I teach card classes. Everyone is so supportive and helpful all the time.

They can be hung on the tree or in the center of a wreath or even go on a gift bag.

The ornament how tos:

I used Modge Podge to attach designer paper to each side of a 4" coaster.

I die cut them with the larger shape on the Scallops #2 using the Big Shot.

The top part is metallic paper die cut with a Tim Holtz die,

as the tab punch wasn't large enough for these.

I folded the 4" x 1.75" piece of metallic cardstock to 2" x 1.75"

and cut it at one end of the die to get this shape.

I attached these with Sticky Strip.

I punched holes with the Crop A Dile and tied Glenda's bows

through the hole and around the topper.

I can't find a tutorial on that, so I'll have to do a post on this bow.

I wrapped ribbon around the center point of the scallop shape

and attached it with Sticky Strip.

Over where the ends meet I placed a Extra large Oval punch shape

embossed with the Merry Christmas words. I added a rhinestone or pearl to this.

There is matching silver or gold cord to hang them from.

I packaged them up in the cello envelopes as they went in a bin to sit in the employees lounge where they could pick one to take home. I did 4 different designs. The paper is a pack I bought at HL of Vintage Christmas embossed with glitter. I thought I should use store product for their gifts. ;)

Stamp Night Cards

Really? It's the 11th already? I must have blinked!

Time is going by way too fast.

Here are the cards we did this month at stamp night.

The first card was inspired by a swap I got at SU's convention

from Sara Mattson-Blume, it uses the Pennant Parade set and coordinating punch. I turned it into a gift card holder by cutting the base piece 4" x 11". Score at 4" and 8". The flap that folds over for the gift card is 3" wide. You just attach the bottom edge with sticky strip. The antlers are the Snowflake punch. That's the velvet ribbon from the Holiday Mini. Get it quick, the Holiday mini ends Jan. 3!

I love his Glimmer paper nose.

This second card is made with the Top Note die! Another great use for this die.

We also made a Santa candy bar wrapper. This is a full size Hershey bar.

This card is cased completely from Sandi McIver. it took my breath away when I opened the email with the blog post. I had to share it with my gals. What a gorgeous card. I could see giving this for a winter wedding, I'd just change the words.

Stocking Stuffers

I've been busy making stuff for a craft sale this Sunday. If you're local to

These are punch art reindeer candy bars. Inside are

the Hershey and Kit Kat bars from the 10 ct packs.

The antlers were a pain. Next time snowmen!

Here are 2 Christmas pencils in SU's 1" x 8" bags.

I attached the scallop decorations with Sticky Strip

to the bag rather than make toppers. It was much faster.

Santa's Magic Key

No chimney in the house? This solves Santa's dilemma of how to get inside with the presents. These were fun. I had a Sizzix die to cut the key. The shapes are cut from chipboard. It is layered between 2 layers of either metallic paper or dsp. Top Note die for the base. I found the poem online.

Leave this magic key by your front door and make it easier for Santa to come in.

Magic Reindeer Dust

I was worried about the glitter factor in these,

so I did oatmeal, colored sugar, some Christmas sprinkles

and white sugar. Much safer, just in case kids decide to sample it.

This month I found the Stocking die used to make Rudolph,

on tarheelstamper.blogspot.com. I love this. I love reindeer.

She embossed the card base. I forgot to do that when I made the sample.

This opens this way.

So cute! Love all these ideas. It's been busy here in my little corner

of the world. I'm trying to keep up with my blog. Later this week

I'll have ideas for 3D treats with this die.

Now for a fun, baby bootie card.

I didn't use a full cutout. There is about 1.5" trimmed off the top.

I eyeballed it to cut it. There is a white paper cutout liner inside.

I trimmed off 1/4" all the way around. The cuff is not embossed.

It's not just for Christmas!

That's what runs through my mind when I look at this card. I found the original on melanystamps.typepad.com some months back and knew I had to make it. I changed it out a bit. A little less bling, We tore the Glimmer paper rather than cutting the edge of it. Just a little different.

the snowy roof is covered in Dazzling Details.

Inside we stamped some of the trees. It was great to use

Lovely as a Tree again. It had gotten shoved to the back of my stash. :)

More Toe Creations

Flowers!

Poinsettias to be exact.

So quick, small enough to put on a card too.

To make the flower:

Emboss all the petal pieces with the Snowburst folder.

Cut a 3" circle and glue 2 rows of heels and toes on for the petals.

Smaller shapes layered over the larger.

I punched a 1" Circle from a scrap of So Saffron that was embossed

with the Square Lattice die for the center. I sponged More Mustard over the center.

Then decided the petals needed inking too.

I used Bravo Burgundy on the Cherry Cobbler petals.

I just sponged right onto the flower.

If I make more of these, I'll pop the center up with a Dimensional dot.

Off to see what else I can come up with.

Do you have extra stocking toes?

. . . . from cutting out die cut stockings. lol I know the title is freaky.

I found a use for those extra toes and heels.

For the wreath:
I cut a 3.5" circle then punched out the center to have base.
I embossed all the peices with the Square Lattice die.
I glued 2 layers of heels, then 1 layer of toe pieces on to create the wreath.
I curled up each piece to add dimension.
It looks off here, but it turned out evenly round. Camera angle.

It's hard to avoid cutting out extras. They're so close together.

I had collected quite a pile of toes and heels.

I decided to create these small wreaths for on packages this holiday.

I learned how to make a cool flower in a Mini Scrapbook class

I took the other day. I wanted to make it with an SU punch though.

After playing around a bit I came up with this.

To make the flower:

You need 4 punch shapes from the Doily Triple Layer Punch.

1 of the full punch out and 3 of the middle punch out.

Cut in through 2 of the small openings on the rounded end sections.

Fold the sides under on all four sides.

Layer 3 folded "petals" on a brad. Folded side down.

Place the 1 full punch shape behind them

and fold ends of brad down.

Pull petals up toward center.

I edged them with Dazzling Details too. After assembling!

It's been fun to just create stuff today. Off to use up the red toes.

This is an easy WOW card. You can do this with any outline style stamp.

To make your own:

Real Red 5.5" x 11" Score at 4.25" and fold

Gold Paper 3" x 5.5"

Whisper White CS 2.75" x 5.5"

Stamp an image with Versamark.

Cover with gold embossing powder. Heat set.

Stamp small images around embossed image that co-ordinates with it.

I used gold metallic ink to match my embossing.

Assemble card.

Inside attach (sorry no photo) a 3.5" x 4.25 Whisper White

(You get 6 out of a sheet of CS.) with a greeting stamped on it.

Mine is Happy Holidays from Many Merry Messages.

I love Autumn, it's my favorite time of year.

After getting tons of rain and some snow here in my area recently,

I was reminded how fast the season goes by. sigh

I decided to find a project to make to keep the season

around a little longer, even if just indoors.

Then I found these! I loved how the BOO jars looked on the steps for Halloween, so I decided to make some more candle jars. Love the paper bag idea, below. I'm afraid they might catch fire. I could see my porch burning down while I am busy in some other area of my house.

I might do the paper bags, with snowflakes on them,

down the driveway (in the snow) this winter.

Off to die cut some leaves out of tissue paper.

Now, where's the Modge Podge?

Pumpkin Treat Boxes

What an elegant way to dress up your Thanksgiving Day table.

So easy. You all know how much I love easy! lol

To make your own.

Die cut six circles with the SU 3 Inch Circle Originals Die.

Emboss the circles with Elegant Lines embossing folder.

(You can do up to 3 at a time in the folder!)

Sponge over embossing and edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.

Using Old Olive CS, die cut 1 leaf from the Sizzix leaves #2 die.

Hand cut a triangle stem. Cut an 8.5" strip 1/4" wide for the vine.

The handle is 3/4" x 8". Sponge all with Old Olive ink.

Die cut a fancy favor box from Pumpkin Pie CS.

You could also use Box #2, just cut off the top flap.

Use a 2.5 tall strip of CS or trim the box down after cutting it out.

Assemble box.

Layer the 3 circles over each other, for each side. The middle one should be on top.

Attach with Sticky Strip to front and back of box.

Tuck the hand cut stem between 2 circles at the top edge.

Curl vine around a pencil. Attach vine at center point over stem.

Add leaf over front of vine.

Attach handle to inside with Sticky Strip.

Opt: Add 2 brads to sides for deocrations.

Fill with treats and share with family and friends!

Life hasn't slowed down like I expected. Something has to give

and it always seems to be my blog and manicure! I have been saying no to all things

asked of me for 2 weeks now, and I see an end in sight of the back to back actvities.

So I better be able to get back to blogging more regularly! :)

Technique : Faux Tearing

This technique is done with ink and sponges.

Step one: paper edge

Tear a long strip of paper.

Apply temporary tape to one side.

Place on cardstock.

Step 2: add color

Using So Saffron sponge along the torn edge in a vertical motion.

If any lines show they will be all one directions.

Apply color over 2/3's of the exposed area.

Move torn edge to the left. Partway over inked area.

Apply So Saffron again, 3-4 times to make second area darker.

You should have the look of 2 layers at this time.

If not, replace torn paper edge and apply more ink.

Move torn edge to left.

I flipped it over at this time to get a different edge look.

You can also move it up and down.

Then you don't get the same edge effect on each layer.

Ink area with Pumpkin Pie and sponge using vertical motions.

It should look like this when done.

A card that has a wow factor but is still easy to mail.

Step 3: Finish the card

Stamp the short floral image several times in Pumpkin Pie across the bottom.

Stamp the tall floral image once in Pumpkin Pie.

Stamp the tall floral image once in Cajun Craze,

just off a bit to let the Pumpkin image create a shadow effect.

Stamp the sentiment in Cajun Craze.

Add a few of the smallest pearls to the flowers.

Punch a Word Window punch shape. Tie Linen thread around it.

Attach a Cajun Craze brad in one end. Attach to front.

White layer 3.75" x 5"

Cajun Craze layer 4" x 5.25"

Early Espresso Card base 8.5" x 11" scored and folded in half.

Halloween Banner

I made this banner for an online contest.

It was quick and easy to make. I die cut 3.5" circles with my Big Shot,

then punched out the faces with an EK Success punch I got for !!! $5.00!
What a deal.

I tied scraps of ribbon all along the main ribbon alternating colors and patterns.

I just tied overhand knots. Pull them very tight

once they are right where you want them.

To hang the faces I punched holes in the top edge of the pumpkin faces

with the Crop A Dile, then hung them from 1/8" ribbon.

So fun!

These turned out so cool. I had these poorly painted jars from a failed craft idea for making snowmen treat jars. I am trying to use up stuff so I decided to make ghost jar lanterns out of

them.

I die cut some letters out of the black Decor Elements vinyl.

Then from the center of the O's, I punched a bite out of each oval

with the 5 Petal Flower punch, to create eyes. I'm using everything up! lol

Lanterns!

So cool. My son stopped over and was so impressed he took

the 5 extra jars home with him for his porch. :D That's when I know an idea is good!

Halloween Masks

I think this is my favorite card ever!

I created the masks using the Bird Punch!

How tos:

Fold CS scraps in half. Punch out bird body just below neck.

Trim top edge at an angle. Open and decorate.

Decorate with the 2way glue and glitter.

The wreath is made up of punched black branches layered over and over on a ring shape. I punched the center of a 3" circle out with the 2.5" Circle punch. I scattered a few rhinestones around the circle for more bling added the hand written banner ( Yes I lost track of my Happy Halloween sentiment stamp.) The eye slots were punched with different hand punches I had.

I used the Blender Pen and Watercolor Pencils to color these in.

Something I haven't used in quite a while. I'd love these in the newer colors!

I colored in the shadow on these. Not sure I like this card's shadow.

I love the Spice Cake designer paper with this set. These are quick cards,

Well, not the watercoloring part. :), no embellishments so they can easily be mailed.

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

Could life get any sweeter? Now we can stamp cookies. Yum!

We can now create fun and tasty stamped cookies!

To use the stamps fit the silicone stamp over the bottom of wooden handle

and press into dough—it’s that easy! Great to use with kids! They even come with recipes!

Now most of you know I don't eat cookies anymore. I am Gluten intolerant. Go figure.

I will be searching out a wheat free recipe to use with these! I am a cookie/cookie cutter

connoisseur though, and these cookie press stamps are beautifully made.

We got to check them out last July at SU's convention, so I got to see them up close.

I think these would even work with fondant for cake designs.

Food-safe, easy-to-clean and dishwasher safe.

Big Shot Blog Hop How tos

Whoops I had this set for 6pm, instead of 6am!

Folding Frame

Back view

Trim frame flap on each frame piece to about 1/2".

You don't want it to show in the next opening.

Attach to each other by adhering 1/2" flap to it's own frame

then to back edge of next frame. I used Sticky Strip for added strength.

Layer Lace Edge punch strips over front edge. This is a view

from the back side. The ends meet behind the flower.

Cover each opening on the backside with cardstock. You could also use dsp.

Decorate, insert photos, and you're set to go.

This would make a great baby shower table decoration.

Joy Banner

This is so much darker in the photos. It's more a sky blue color.

Die cut Circle 5 rings. First I brayered with Baja Breeze over Bashful Blue then embossed with clear EP mixed with Iridescent Ice. That was done in a class. Someone was cleaning up for me, and dumped clear EP into the wrong jar.

So now it's gone! I used it up. :D

On each die cut, fold your circle flap in half then back across the front side of the ring. Cut 4 flaps at an angle to fit over rings. The top tab can stay the original size.

Fold the flap over the bottom of the next ring

Attach with Sticky Strip until all five are attached in a row.

To decorate I die cut the letters from Silver Glimmer paper. Die cut this glitter side

toward the die to get a clean cut. The snowflakes are cut from Shimmer paper using

the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die Then all attached them to the rings with glue dots.

I punched a 1/8" hole and threaded 1'8" Taffeta Ribbon

in a loop to hang it. The bow is attached over the hole.

To bling up the Taffeta ribbon bow, I edged the ribbon (After I tied and attached the bow!) with Tombow Mono Multi and covered that with Silver Glass Glitter.

Framed Joy Banner

Cut the flaps out of 5 frames. Adhere white over opening on backside. Attach a 1 1/2" square of dsp to front side. Attach letters cut from Red glimmer paper, to center 3 frames. You could easily make this longer, just add more frames. Die cut shapes from Stocking Accent die, or punch shapes with Ornament punch. Attach on end frames. I tied White Taffeta around the ornament. The holly leaves are scored down the center. I tied frames together with Red/White Baker's Twine, tying at each section.

Punch a 1/8" hole in each of the top corners.

The white decoration is the center of a circle from the Lace Edge punch.

Hi everyone!

If you are traveling forward in the Stampin' Addict's Big Shot Blog Hop you've just come from Adriana's blog, Escape 2 Stamp. I love the Stocking Accents die! Adriana created such cute projects with it. There were so many amazing projects using the different Big Shot dies and folders in the hop. To wrap up the hop I'm featuring projects using the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die.

What, you may ask, can be done with this die that hasn't already been

shared on the web? I put my thinking cap on, and took a step outside the box.

The flower is done using the Boho Blossom punch.

I was trying to see how many pieces of card stock I could run through

the Big Shot with this die. I want to offer a countdown calendar class

and didn't want to be die cutting for hours. Well, you can do 2 pieces,

but one is better. sigh.
The score line had cut through on almost all of the frames.

Looking at that pile of pieces, I saw a banner, or two, for the holidays . . .

For the number 5 card I cut out a five and covered the ornament image.

I wanted a star there, but could not cut one small enough.
I needed a punch! lol

Inside I stamped the image from Bring on the Cake

and colored in the coordinating numbers for the birthday year.

For my sneak peek I created a sweet owl Peek A Boo window card

for a friend's birthday. Inside it says, Who's turning 50?

She really likes owls.

I stamped the card front first. Then reinked the Woodgrain BG stamp

and lined up the Peek A Boo window on the top section of the stamp

so I could line it up with the pattern on the card. The window is almost

invisible on the card when closed.

This is another version we did inspired by Dawn Olchefske's owl card.

The owl was stamped a second time on a scrap of Pumpkin Pie and the treat bag

cut out and mounted over the owl with a Dimensional. I mailed one to a friend,

for hers I attached fine green glitter on the mask with the 2Way glue pen. I forgot to take a picture of that.

Christmas Card Ideas

Yep, I feel like singing Christmas Carols after stamping lots

of Christmas Card class samples. I bet once I rake the leaves, I won't. lol

Halloween Pop Up

Here's a cute card using Spooky Bingo Bits.

The Rich Razzleberry layer is done with the Iced Crystal technique

I found at pawsitivelyhappystampin.blogspot.com

You need:
a 4 cup glass measuring cup or bowl
1 cup of boiling water
1 cup of Epsom salts
a paintbrush

Pour the water into a bowl and add the Epsom salt. Stir until the Epsom salt is dissolved.
Paint it onto your cardstock. Drain off any extra liquid right away.
Once it starts to set up, don’t go back and “repaint” as you will destroy the crystal effect.
Let it dry! It's best to do this overnight but you can lay it in front of a fan or use a heat gun.
You won't see the effect at first, as it dries you start to see the frosty effect of the drying Epsom Salts.

To create the pop up:

Punch the window opening through all the layers on the front to create the opening.

Attach the circle with the word stamped on it, inside the opening.

The pop up is created by cutting a 2.5" circle into a spiral. Each end is attached with Sticky Strip.

Attach the bat stamped circles along the spiral, when you open the card they "pop" up at you.

I did double bat circles so the back didn't show. I just attached one

Halloween Treat

It's never too early to start making cute things for Halloween.

I found these little pails at Target a few years ago. I am cleaning out my stuff!

The size was perfect for the Scarey Skeleton stamp set.

It's retired but I love Halloween and I keep my sets.

The skeleton is stamped and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.

Layer that on an Extra Large Oval punch. I hand cut a banner, that is layered

over a simple orange strip, with the greeting stamped on it.
The cat face is punched out with the 1/2" Circle punch and attached with a Dimensional. I added glitter at the edges using the Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive. The whole thing is attached to the pail with Sticky Strip.

Just fill with candy for a fun treat!

Craft Show Results

Well really, I thought I'd get this posted Saturday night but I was exhausted! The craft show went well, and was a great way to start the fall season. I made way too much stuff, lol, and will have to find some way to offer some of it for sale online. I spent yesterday clearing out the stamp space as I have Stampin' Up! card nights this week. Not sure what we're making yet, :) but it's only Monday. I am determined to get ahead of the game here. Clearing some of the clutter is helping.

Here are some pictures of my booth before the sale started.

I had fun making lots of chalkboard craft items. Trick or Treat buckets,

Countdown Memo Boards, magnets, and chalkboard mugs!

I was able to advertise my Hobby Lobby classes

and may have some gals coming to the scrapbook night class!

I felt like Santa's elf with a deadline to get it all done!!!

Remembering

I don't post my opinion often. I want my blog to be a stamping happy place.

I felt too strongly about this. I decided to honor those our country lost

by spending time this weekend with family. If I could, I'd give all the people

our country lost, and their families one more day with each other.

To say how proud they are of how strong they've been, how much they love each other,

how much they miss each other. We never know when we'll go, so I wanted those I love

to know I love them and I'm proud of them.

Now back to stamping.

Fall Foilage - Stepped Up

I love quick cards. They make great workshop cards.

This is a card for a technique class that will feature the Rock n Roll technique.

I stamped the first leaf then tilted the stamp and stamped again before reinking.

I repeated it to get the 4 leaves.

I love to show that images beside round one work

for this technique. All it needs is a sentiment added

to the Modern Punch shape. This would be a great card for a guy.

Stepped Up it looks like this . . .

I tried to score lines free hand to look like bark.

Um, no. I need to use the Simply Scoring Tool!

I added the scallop edge punched form the Frostwood Lodge dsp,

a sentiment, and a brad on the Modern Label punch shape.

Very easy to add a little more pizazz to a card

and it's still a manly card!

This is such an elegant card created by Sara Cimbaro.

Sara features 2 of the pattern paper from the Spice Cake designer paper

on her card. This set, Always Thankful is a great set for watercoloring too.

This is one of the A La Carte sets from the last page.

Leaves of A Tree. Beautifully done by Nancy Brunbridge.

She used the emboss resist technique for the image.

That's more of the Quilted Ribbon on there too!

Even though it's a 2 step set. it is very easy to use,

and it's a set for fall. I love autumn.

is from the It's a wrap Holidays stamp set.

Over the next few days I'll be sharing

a few cards from swaps I particpated in.

I made ths card with a customer the other morning.

We just stamped for fun. Best time stamping!

It features the Level 1 hostess set, Warmest of Wishes.

Isn't he cute! I saw a card online that inspirted this.

Nancy thought of adding the purple. I came up with the moon idea.

We cute out the treat bag and used a 1/2 Dimensional to attach it.

Here is another card using the hostess set.

That's the new Quilted Ribbon! Awesome stuff in IRL!

It looks like she spritzzed every layer. It all glimmers!

Holiday Mini How tos - last ones!

I got the camera to work! It might be time to check out new cameras.

Or at least get new rechargable batteries!

Faux Bark Cone Ornament

Using one of the wood pattern papers from the dsp, die cut 2 Petal Cone die shapes.

Punch out a 2.5" circle. Cut in 1/2. This is just a bit smaller than the

round part of the cone die. Adhere the 1/2 circle (bark side out) to the inside

of the die cut.

Curl the die cut around something round (The Crystal Effects bottle

worked great.). Attach edges together at flap.

Curl front round flap forward sponge all over edges,

and some on the body to get an aged bark effect. I sponged a lot of ink

on the flap where the circle didn't cover the edges. You could also

hand cut the 1/2 circles for on the flaps.

Punch 2 holes with the Crop A Dile for the Seam Binding Ribbon,

so the ends are inside and hidden.

You could make the Seam Binding Ribbon longer and let

the ends hand down the outside for added decoration.

Die cut 2 banners. One in the pattern paper and one in Cherry Cobbler.

Stamp and emboss a sentiment on pattern paper banner.

Attach together 2 banners with a brad and attach to cone with a Dimensional.

Loopy Bow

For the loopy bow, I used six 1/2" x 12" strips.

Overlap and adhere the ends to make large circles.

Pull together at center (see on left side of photo) and attach to each other.

Wrap center point with a short 1/2" strip. Carefully bend loops

up to create standing bow effect. Round out ends of loops.

Stocking Banner

This is so easy!

Score and fold 5" x 12" dsp. Score at 2 1/2".

Punch out however many stocking you need, by punching

with the folded edge just inside the punch shape.

You'll have to work with your punch upside down so you can see the opening.

You'll need 2 sets of coordinating trim if you are decorating

both sides of the stockings. Attach these to the stocking.

Using the Tombow Mono Multi glue, run a line of glue down the stocking,

as shown by the black line. Any more than this and it tends to ooze out.

A little goes a long way. Place ribbon inside stocking. Press shut.

I attached my stockings 1/2" apart on the ribbon.

Medallion Decoration

The medallion on the bag is created using the same scoring

and folding technique as the bird ornament.

Using a 1.5" x 6" strip, score every 1/8".

Fold back and forth on fold lines.

Attach ends together with narrow Sticky Strip piece.

Punch out a 1" circle and cover with Sticky Strip on one side.

Gently press medallion flat so ends of one edge meet in center.

Press circle with sticky Strip over center. Repeat on other side.

Add more circles for embellishment.

Attach to gift package with Dimensionals.

That's it!

Holiday Mini Blog Hop How tos

Faux Flower

This can be used as an ornament or a gift bag decoration.

These can be made any size. I used 1" x 6" strips.

Adhere ends to each other, creating a loop. Do half in each pattern.

Punch a hole through each end. Thread on 24" of 1/8" Real Red Taffeta.

Tie at center. I used 16 loops. Alternating the patterns. Round out

each loop so they form a circle shape.

To create the center, I punched a 2.5" circle out of cs covered it

with sticky tape on both sides. I peeled off the protective paper

and pressed glitter onto the front side. I peeled the protective paper

off the back and pressed it onto the flower center.

Bird Ornament

Punch out 2 birds for every one ornament.

Glue 2 together for a stronger body. I used the SU square glue stick.

Use your Crop A Dile to punch 2 holes close together in the body.

Score your 3" x 6" dsp every 1/4". This goes quick on the Simply Score.

Fan fold and slide through the holes in the bird body.

Fan wings out to see the pattern on paper.

Holiday Mini Blog Hop

Hi all! You've reached stop number 10 of 19 on the Stampin' Addicts

Holiday Mini Blog Hop. If you are traveling forward in the blog hop

you just came from Sarah's blog, Sarah's Ink Spot Blog.

What she did with the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit

from page 26 of the mini catalog is just awesome!

I am featuring the Frostwood Lodge designer series paper,

at my stop on the hop. I had fun finding creative ways

to feature the paper with bags, tags, bows, and more!

Here I used the patterns that featured the Garden Green

and Cherry Cobbler colors to created

a punched stocking banner to decorate a gift bag.

Remember to reverse your paper in the punch (so they face 2 directions)

to get a pair of stockings as I placed on the tag.

I handcut the tag and ran it through the Square Lattice

embossing folder. I had to use that at least once!

The sentiment is from the Christmas set, Many Merry Messages, in the Big Idea Book and Catalog.

Here are a few gift wrapped items with handmade bows. The flower in front
was going to go inside a wreath frame but I didn't find one I liked.
It would also look great on a gift bag or on top a present.

It was so easy to make the medallion circle using the Simply Scored scoring tool

that will be available to you September 1st. I have used all the others

and really like this one best!

Last I have some ornaments. Do you remember making

the accordion wing birds in grade school? You fold and fold

then slide the wings through a slit in the body. That's one I made.

I used the bird from the SU punch, glued 2 together to make a sturdier body,

scored the paper at 1/8" lines before folding back and forth.

As I said earlier, it is soooo easy using the Simply Scored scoring tool!

I made one bird for each pattern of the paper. I had these "trees"

in my craft room. They had hanging crosses on them

that I gave to my friend Shelley. They work great for ornaments.

The sentiment is from the Christmas set, Christmas Lodge, in the Holiday Mini

The other ornaments are hanging cones. I used to have a set of birch bark cones

for the tree (I got the bark off a fallen dead tree, just so you know.)

I loved them and the one pattern reminds me of that tree bark.

So I made cones with 2 of the wood patterns. I used die cuts

from the Petal cone die and curled them into a cone. Lots of sponging on these too!

I even found 2 old candy canes in the back

of the cookbook cupboard. I will not be eating those!

The sentiment is from the Christmas set, Many Merry Messages, in the Big Idea Book and Catalog.

Bag Tags From July

These are the bag tags from last month's orders.

They were made using the A La Carte Stamp, Young Vermillion.

This would be a great image to watercolor. I just inked and stamped,

I had too many to make. It is a striking image by itself too.

The tag is designed to be reusable. Just remove it from the bag

and adhere to a card base. It hangs from the same hole the ribbon

runs through so no extra holes in it. I'm going to try and do them

this way every month.

Here I attached the tag to an Old Olive base and added

a Scallop Oval punch shape with a sentiment. This image

would work for any kind of card. The card base is embossed

with the stripes embossing folder.

I did tell you that's my new favorite embossing folder, right?

Autumn Class Card

Here's a peek at one of the cards for
the Autumn card class at the end of September.

I love this set, well you know I love all fall stamp sets. :)

Garden Green card base. The halves of a More Mustard square behind the corners for framing. Pumpkin Pie for the bottom layer, then all the lovely earthy colors from the different color collections for the leaves and seeds, from the Autumn Days stamp set, in the wreath. I used 2 metallic brads, the color in the photo is really off for them. The Word Window punch with Teeny Tiny Wishes wraps it up. To get the shorter white piece I reinserted the stamped punch shape from the bottom and punched an end off. To get a true round wreath I use the stylus to lightly score a circle inside a tape roll. I then stamp over the scored line.

I got to meet a blog follower in person, Debra came to class tonight.
She lives here by me and came to the class I do at Hobby Lobby.
It was so nice to get to meet her and her friends!

The class tonight was lots of fun, as they all are!

I met another blog follower in person earlier this summer,

Pat was at the SU convention this July, and I got to swap

with her. I need to find her card, I want to use it in a class.

It has butterflies on it! lol Well the joke is I got told last week

every class has butterfly cards, but very few flower cards.

So I need to do more flower cards. :)

These are the cards we made tonight. No butterfly Sarah!

We have a good time at the classes. I have updated the display board

with the projects for the next two classes. If you're local,

Last sneak peek for the Christmas Lodge set

This card features the house image for this set. I tried coloring in parts of the house but that was too hard for my hands. I did apply the NEW Dazzling Details Glitter Glue over all the roof portions on this card. Quite the sparkle factor! lol The paper is from the Frostwood Lodge collection. A lot of great plaid patterns in this pack. I edged the bottom with the Large Lace Ribbon Border Punch.

Another Holiday Mini sneak peek

This is the set of cards I made in July for the monthly Christmas challenge I am in. In the inside is the sentiment stamp I punched all those tags out for the last card I posted. I love the style of this set. I embossed the trees in white embossing powder on textured black cardstock. It creates a cool effect. The ribbon is retired white organza. More later, still crafting!

Holiday Mini sneak peek

Yikes! How did it get to be Friday already? I've been knee deep in crafting. I have to do prep for a craft show, a used stamp sale and another rummage sale in the next month. Who needs sleep? lol

Here is a sneak peek of the set Christmas Lodge from the Holiday mini.

I used a Black, White, and Wild Wasabi color combo. The tree image is embossed with Wild Wasabi embossing powder. The tags are words from a sentiment stamp in the set. I stamped and punched them out. Each and every one. lol I made a bunch of these for a swap with other demonstrators. The tags are attached with a vintage button brad and a Dimensional. For the Wild Wasabi background piece I embossed it with the Stripes impression folder. I really like this new folder.

Many Mustaches

This stamp is found in the A La Carte section.

Mustaches are all the rage right now. They are being used for everything from cards to decorating for baby showers. I created this card for convention. This was the one I left home, it's got marks from the stamp edge on it. It's the only one I have left! So fun! I combined this stamp with the Smarty Pants set.

This one I created to send to a swap I do with other demos.

The pumpkin is the second largest oval from the Ovals Big Shot die, embossed with the new Stripes folder. I hand cut the stems and curls. The face is hand drawn. You could use the Jack of All Trades stamp set from the Holiday section of the current catalog. I ran a black marker along the mustache edge to hide the white edges, after cutting them out. Even though I am cutting out more stuff, I can't cut that well!

I only cut one of this style. Way too many curves!

My Favorite Things

I know you've seen pictures all over the internet of what was at SU's convention.

I wanted to share a few projects that were my favorites, with you.

My friend Mary Haugen created this as one of her Artisan Award entries.

It is created with Altoid tins. All her projects were on display

and she was one of the finalists. Not in the top 10, but I believe she was #11.

You go Mary!

The first day was so fun. Convention always starts off with a musical performance

of the convention theme song. Grow was the theme for this year. The letters

on staged changed colors for different presentations.

This was so fun and the group was very talented. Lots of dancing and flips.

Pam Morgan shared sneak peeks of what was in the new Holiday Mini. It's so exciting to see what is coming out next. I even won a set from the Holiday Mini!!! More on that later. :) I know you've heard already but we now have our own scoring tool! Simply Scored! With lines every 1/8" you can create anything with it! It has place markers you can move around to where you want. Can you tell I love it? I placed my preorder August 1st and have been happily using it ever

since. You are all going to want one too!

This was a display done by an SU artist. It is made of paper! Not sure

how they got it shiney as I didn't want to touch the display to check it out.

So cute! I have rain boots filled with flowers like those, on my porch too.

I love these pumpkins. What a great way to show off the halloween dsp!

This was shown onstage during a general session. So country junk chic!

I thought this would also be great with photos or cards clipped to it.

Those little envelopes are a die cut we carry.

Now this was all me! lol Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love

any kind of rummage or tag sale. I so wanted to take that table home for my room!

So I'm off here to finish some cards for a Holiday Mini swap.

I'll share those real soon. I got to use my Convention prize set to make them!

Hi all!

I got my laptop back 2 days ago, yeah!, but then my photo editing program

wouldn't recognize any of my latest uploads. It's always something. lol

So with a new photo program downloaded, I'm back to blogging.

Now for some fun stuff!

Here is a card I made with the Raining Flowers set.

I used one of the flower outline images to stamp clouds. The butterfly is 2 of a smaller solid flower image, stamped next to each other to create a butterfly. I then cut it out. I tied a bit of Linen thread around it to create the antennas. We received packs of rhinestones in with our M&T packs at SU's convention so I added them as bling to the card.

I found this guy flittering around my backyard the other day.

He reminded me I had this card to share. :)

On this card I did the chalkboard technique.
To do this, you stamp white craft ink on black cardstock.

So where did I go to? Vacation? Won a cruise? Won the lottery? lol

Nope, just super busy creating swaps to take to convention with me next week.

Here is my biggest swap. It has too many parts!

It is taking way longer than I expected it too.

It has a cool background technique, ( I'll post more about that another day.)

and uses Spooky Bingo Bits from the new catalog.

To make the image stamping go faster, I attached the 4 stamps

to the clear block then stamped them all at the same time.

I planned it so they all use black ink.

To make sure they would line up to be punched out with enough room around them,

I put together a throw away scrap. See below. I placed this under the clear block

then attached the stamps in the openings on top the block.

It worked!

Just Believe

We made this card last month for club.

It uses the new Doily punch from in the Summer Mini Catalog. That punch is so cool, it's 3 punches in one.

We used markers to ink the stamp, so we could have the floweers be a different color. The Baja Breeze is embossed with the Square Lattice die. That is my favorite go to folder! :) This card was so easy, it was the favorite at club.

We made this card in club this month.

I saw this card online by Cindy Beach and just had to case it.

What a clever way to use the Hero wheel!

Need a last minute grad card for a party?

This would work for that.

You could even use it for a retirement card.

I used the map stamp from Travel Log (Summer Mini catalog). Stamp 3 times with black ink on white CS, glue to black piece. The red strip is from above the Fancy Favor box, the extra that gets cut off. Glue that to the black piece. Run that through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice folder. It looks quilted when you are done.

Stamp the image from Word Play on white and layer that on Black, then Real Red. Attach that to your first piece,. Layer it on a white base piece, and your card is ready to go.
