Count My Blessings stamp set candle holder

Here is a 3D item I snuck into card buffet, they don't really like 3D items.
Though, it was very popular!

I saw a Christmas one and didn't want to wait to offer it to my stampers.

1 sheet Pumpkin Pie cs (or other color if for a different holiday)
Vellum 2 pieces 3" x 4"
1 strip of dsp 3/4" x 12 Painted Autumn dsp (trim end after attaching)
Linen Thread
Embellisment or punched shape ( I used retired accents)
Tear & Tape Adhesive
glue dots
Tombow Multi Purpose glue
Stitched Shpes Framlits (You can use any framelit that fits in the panels)
Stazon Ink
Stamp set of your choice
LED candle

How to:
Stamp images with Stazon, centered on vellum, set aside to dry.
When dry attach Tear & Tape Adhesive to top and bottom edges only
of the front side. (side image is stamped on)

1. With long edge of cs at top of scoreboard, score Pumpkin Pie cs 3 places at at 2.75 - 5.5 - 8.25
2. Cit in half to get 2 4.25" x 11  pieces

3. Fold in half.  Place framelit centered over folded cs.
Use post its to hold the framelit, it will slide around.
By cutting them at the same time they are in the same place on both panels.
Run thru Big Shot.

4. Fold on other score lines.

5. Attach dsp strip with Multi Purpose glue, folding strip over folded edges,
this gives you time to adjust the dsp over the folds.  Trim off excess.

6.  Attach vellum on inside over window openings.  Center designs in windows.
You could cut windows in back panel and add vellum windows there too.
I found the light showed better out one side.   Maybe I need bigger led candles.

7. Fold back panel on all fold lines. Attach to front panel with sticky Tear & Tape Adhesive.
ON INSIDE of cs, not over dsp.  Just showing for the adhesive challenged.
I put 2 strips, one at each side of end panels.

8. Attach Linen thread, winding into circle, attaching to a 1/2" strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Attach an embellishment over this using glue dots, to hide tape.

Done, place candle inside.  Great centerpiece idea for a holiday.

Painted Harvest Stamp Set

Trying to catch up.  I dropped the hand clippers onto my foot, almost a week ago,
while cleaning out flower beds. 4 stitches, bruised and swollen toes.
sigh, what's that saying, if not for bad luck, I'd have no luck.  lol
I think I hate yard work.

This is a swap card I cased.
I sponged the white layer to give the look of another layer. My stampers group
prefers very simple wow cards.  Not always easy to come up with.

Daisy Delight Stamp Set

I love the color Calypso Coral.  It's a warm, happy, color.
This card was inspired by a card posted online in the Demonstrator Party Planning group.
I made it into a quick and cute card by taking away layers.

We inked the block with Calypso Coral and Old Olive Straight from the pad.
Coral first! Otherwise you have green on that pad.
Spritzed it with water and stamped.
Once dry we used post it notes to protect the white area and stamped the partial daisy.
The little dots are in the daisy set and we just stamped over the front.
My stamp buffet attendees love quick and cute cards!

Hostess Set - Feathery Friends Stamp Set

A case of a swap card.  I changed the greeting layer and ribbon,
as she used the new Pretty Label punch, which I do not own, yet.
Watercolor Pencils and the Blender Pen to color.

Mediterranean Moments Stamp Set

I cased the layout from a swap card.
The center is open so you see the greeting stamped inside.
The image layer holds the bottom section onto the card.
The image needed a calm background so the Wood dsp worked beautifully.
I used the Watercolor Pencils and the Blender Pen to color the image.

Happy stamping!

My day with the quilts

Sorry no stamping, just pictures from my Quilt Show trip.

I love fabric, ever since I stood by my Great Grandmother's side and watched her sew
at a treadle machine, I wanted to sew.  I've made a living at it several times in my life,
but I just want to collect fun fabric and hoard it.  lol
To get to go to the quilt expo, (I' never been there! gasp, what I've missed.) was wonderful.

My first stop after getting inside was the Hope 2 Others booth.
They were collecting hats and blankets for babies in Tanzinia.
Several ladies and I from the Open Knit Group at Silver Thimble Quilt and Yarn Shoppe
worked to make hats for newborns.  We collected 37 hats.

Two days before I left for Madison I made 6 baby blankets
using the Missouri Star Quilt's Easy Binding for Baby blankets.
It was about 30 minutes per blanket with this method.

Lovely people and so excited about the donation.

Their booth.

There was a contest by Cherrywood Fabrics for mini quilts of the Lion King.
Not a bad one in the bunch.  Items with a Disney Ribbon are going to be on display
on Broadway at the theater.  The lady in the white gloves told us. they ruled everywhere.
Don't reach for a quilt, you might get your hands slapped.  Understandable,
who wants their entry back with hand oil all over the edges.

There were over 60 entries, if I counted right.

This was the first place winner.  a 3D quilt
Sorry blurry.  front view - African Savannah

 view from left side

view from right side

Another was a contest for quilts with hexagons.

My favorite.  It made me laugh, cows playing soccer,
or volleyball is what I saw at first.

Photos of the judged show were posted that photos were only for personal enjoyment,
so I asked, and that means not posting any on my blog.  So I'll be watching for the release
of a video about the entries.

I was so overwhelmed I didn't take pictures of the vendor areas,
which were on both sides of the show set up and huge.

I did take 3 lecture classes that were well presented.
1. The Binding Tool - Great class, they gave us a booklet of patterns.
I want to make a table runner with this.

2. Paper Piecing with Mary Hertel - I had bought one of her dog patterns on Etsy
She shared ways to save on fabric when working with her patterns.

3. Using doilies and Lace on your quilted items.
This gal was so fun, great way to wrap up the last hour of the show.
The vest she wore to class had all kinds of lovely trims on it.
Doilies, hankies, a pocket, bands of lace, buttons and pins.
The class really inspired me to do some altered clothing sewing.

Yes, I did buy fabric.  Not much as I am still decluttering my house.
But things that caught my eye and spoke to me (you can relate to that
with stamps and papers, right?)

I think that's enough.  I'm tired out again, going over the day.  lol

I took last weekend off!

Long post, full of pictures.
I packed a bag, dropped the dog at his favorite place, and went to the Madison area.
I attended the Wool Festival at Jefferson City Fair Park on Friday and the Quilt Expo
at the Alliant Center Saturday.  It was such a good time.
I needed to get away for a bit and this was right up my alley.  Wool, yarns, and quilting.
Didn't know I did something besides stamping?
Well, that's work, the other is pure fun!

There was all kinds of wool available, for felting, and carding/spinning your own.

hand dyed yarns

I bought one of these double knit tubes for knitting 2 socks at a time for a friend.
That purchased happened via info over the phone.  lol
I laugh because you use to be able to tell the crazy people by who walked around
talking to themselves.  Now, people are on the phone and we can't tell who's crazy!

Lovely yarn everywhere.

Ready made items too!

Lots of hats everywhere!
I had to limit what I took pictures, or how many, of so I didn't burn thru my battery.

AND accessories!  So many accessories!
Sweater fasteners . . .
Who wants to knit button holes?

Wait!  Buttons of every kind for those button holes!
 wood slices

These were bone.
I bought some leaf shaped buttons, but for purses.

I bought a felted flower.
Not sure what I'll do with it yet.

Even rabbits were for sale!  There was yarn in this booth made of rabbit fur.
I like my yarn to start on sheep or alpacas.  Most of the rest makes me sneeze.

Gorilla yarn, um, cool, but no.

I enjoyed the sheep herding competition.
We sat on bleachers, outside the fence area.  It was pretty windy so I didn't stay there long.
It was very interesting,  a gentleman there explained how it all works to the crowd.

I did see sheep but couldn't stay long enough in that building.  It set off my allergies.

Then there were those that bought s much they had to buy baskets!
These ladies were so nice and let me take a picture.

I was wiped out by the end of the event day,
and headed for the hotel where I was asleep at 8pm.

Tomorrow I'll share about the Quilt Expo.

Happy Celebrations Stamp Set

Isn't this a happy card?
I think all birthday cards should be happy!

This was inspired by 2 cards I saw on Pinterest.
The celebrate word image is a 2 tone.  Ink the full word with Peekaboo Peach,
then ink over the top edge with Tangerine Tango and stamp.

Do you know you can curve photopolymer words on the block.
Just bend them as you attach them to the block, to fit a curve shape.
Then we were able to use the Duet Banner punch for the popped up greeting!
Good hint, place a piece of tape on the backside of the image piece edge
before wrapping the Baker's Twine around it.  It stays in place so much better!

The Rubber Stamp Rummage Sale is this week so I am trying to get some quick posts
set to share with you.

My spin on the Eclipse Card

I created this card for a swap.  I did so many cards I, gasp, got tired of Autumn and Christmas cards.
I thought this would be a lovely birthday or even sympathy card.
I'm also making them for my customers this month, as their thank you card in their order.
Now don't you wish you had ordered this month?

So many videos say to punch or die cut your raised image then put it back with post its.
Nope, not my customers, they'll pass on that card. Cards need to be easy, they come to class after
a long work day and just want to have fun.   This card was inspired by Susan Campbell's card.

Very Vanilla CS 4x5.5” and 5.5 x 8.5” folded card base + scrap for greeting
Black CS – scraps that fit in the Cat punch.
Ribbon 6” + some – I only attached this to the edges on the backside of the card layer, then tied a short piece onto this.
I tie from the roll and just the ribbon so I am not clipping off each end.

Spooky Cat stamp Set - Face
Cat Punch
Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set
Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
Calypso Coral, Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla, Basic Black CS
Calypso Coral 1/4” Ombre Ribbon or Washi Tape
Soft Subltles Enamel Shapes
Classic Label Punch

1. Stamp your image on a 4 x 5.25” Very Vanilla cardstock layer. I used the flowers from the Awesomely Artistic Set.
Many images will work. The set that goes with the crate die cut is what Susan used.

2. Punch out your cat, have some of the floral image in the cat opening.
Stamp the face on the cat with Basic Black. Set aside.

3. Attach ribbon or Washi Tape to top of 4 x 5.25” layer.

4. Attach 4 x 5.25” layer to Very Vanilla folded card base.

5. Punch 2 cat shapes out of Black cardstock. Glue together.
Glue into cat opening on 4 x 5.25”layer.

6. Attach Dimemsionals to back of punched cat image.
I used 4 mini Dimensionals, and cut one in half for the tail.

7. Remove papers on Dimensionals. lol Don't ask why I say this, but my cat would not stick to first card!
Set directly over black cat punched shape in 4 x 5.25” layer, press in place.

8. Tie short piece of ribbon onto ribbon strip on card.  I tie directly from the roll, it saves on ribbon.  You only trim one end a bit rather than 1/2" off 2.  In a class of 20, that is over half a yard of ribbon wasted.

9. You can stamp the greeting directly onto the card,
or stamp Thinking of You from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Punch out with Classic Label Punch, trim and glue onto card.

10. Embellish with a Soft Subtle Enamel Shape. I used a Blushing Bride shape.

Happy stamping!
