Happy Thanksgiving!

Just a simple card I put together in My Digital Studio for you.

A favorite quote I want to share.
It's not what we say about our blessings,
but how we use them,
is the true measure of our thanksgiving.

Top Note Bag Toppers

I have seen cards all over the internet using these and other designs.  I made some of them the other day with a customer/friend.  I'll get them posted asap.  Most are made with the Top Note Die.  My friend Dixie needed some bag topper ideas.  I created these using the card ideas.

Close Ups

The snowman hat is half of a top note with a 4 1/2" wide band.  I hand cut the carrot.  The bird is from the die in the Holiday mini.  The "coal" are 1/4" punches.
The green guy's hat was a little more than an inch in height.  The trim on his hat is made with the Scallop Edge punch.  Punch one long edge.  Cut the strip 3/4" wide.  Punch the other side by lining up the scallops.  His nose is 1/2" circle with two 1/4" punches out of it.  His eyes are 1/2" circles.

The reindeer's antlers are from a Sizzix swirly die with flowers. I sponged the edges of the face.
The penguin is for Rhonda's daughter who loves penguins.  The beak and wings are the smal Oval punch.   Both of their eyes are 1/2" circles.

Tanya's Tealight Box

Tanya, who I met at  the MN Regionals made the cutest candlebox today!  I had to case it.
Then I tried to make it with the matchbox die cut.  I made the extend version of the match box by folding the cardstock in half then die cutting it.  Click here  It's a little too large.  I need to play around with it some more.

Closed version of Tanya's idea.  It holds 3 tealights.

The matchbox has an acetate cover.  I put matches in as another tealight did not fit.

The tissue is punched out with the 1 3/8" circle punch, a center hole is punched to slide it over the wick.
It is then stamped.  I did this by pressing the tissue down onto the upside down stamps so I could center the image.
Using the heat gun you melt the tissue into the candle top.  Do not hold the candle while you do this.  The heat gun gets hot.  My candles did not move around on the counter as I melted the tissue into the candles.

This is a Diamond fold card we made in club this month.
Here is a great blog that tells you how to easily fold this.

Looks WOW!, but it is so easy!  If you can fold laundry, you can fold this card!

I used stamps from 2 hostess sets for this card.  The More the Merrier (snowmen) and Christmas Punch (the greeting).  Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Real Red 12" x 12" paper cut to 4" x 12".  You can get 3 cards from one sheet.
The left panel has a slide from the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.  I colored the inside of it with a fine point red Sharpie marker.  I ran Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon thru it.

Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware #112454 $29.95
Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper #116770  $11.95
1/2" Soft Suede Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon #115612  $9.95

Dashing Through The Snow . . .

The camera problem is fixed.  It was the rechargeable batteries.  I guess they only last so long.

We made today's card in club this week.  It has inspiration from about 3 cards I viewed online.  One had the swirls in the snow, one had a moon, one a brad for a collar,  etc., etc..  Thank you everyone out there for sharing your creativity.  I was stumped what to do with this stamp.  It's my favorite, too!

To create the moon we punched a circle from a post-it  Leave this in place until the card is totally finished otherwise you might get silver embossing stuck in the moon.  How do I know that?  lol

We did faux tearing to create the hill by sponging the sky.  Lay your torn  paper over the Glossy cardstock and sponge your sky.

We then used the reverse torn piece to protect the sky while we sponged the swirls on the hill.  They are done by using the excess (or negative) of the die cut from the Swirly Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die.  The ink is sponged lightly through the die cut.

We then embossed the reindeer and the words.  This is the point to put the brad in for the collar.  It is a mini lavender Iridescent Ice brad.

Then using the 2way Glue pen add glue where you want the Dazzling Diamonds to stick.
You can remove your moon post-it now.  :)
Finish assembling your card.

Dasher Stamp #116816 $8.95
Swirly Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die #113456  $19.95
Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter #102023 $4.50
2-Way Glue Pen #100425  $3.50
Blue Brocade, Basic Grey, Glossy Papers
Blue Brocade Ink
